Today an article was published in a local authority trade publication called the Municipal Journal which was a collaboration between Perry Holmes and Dr Ping Zheng and which sought to describe the recipe for success in a council company.
The article floated the proposal to set up a national network focusing on best practice and innovation in council companies and looked at some success factors. These included effective governance, performance evaluation of company staff, board makeup including business expertise and assessment of the market and maintaining agility to respond.
